VR Experience

BVE 2017

Pro audio sector image

VR storytelling, immersive experiences and 360 cinematic content are some of the most exciting innovations in our industry. Advancement in technology has allowed broadcasters, brands and content creators to give audiences a completely different insight into new worlds, allowing users to immerse themselves into environments never before possible. But, what are the creative challenges? How do we monetize VR content? Will VR take the same path as 3D? You need to see it for yourself to decide.

For the first time at BVE you can see first hand the latest VR content by UK Production Companies BBC Earth, Sky VR, Happy Finish and Surround Vison.  As well as immersing yourself into sports, cinematic film, wildlife and branded content VR experiences, you can explore VR’s full potential through a series of panel discussions, case studies and demonstrations.

Download the programme

Sky have a major commitment to the production of high quality VR experiences and in 2016 launched their new in-house facility Sky VR Studios and more recently, the Sky VR App.

Sky transports fans of sports, movies, news and entertainment to locations around the world, offering a truly unique perspective on major events. The app has over 40 individual pieces of content available and at BVE you’ll be able to view and demo some of their latest sports content; trackside at Silverstone or ringside seats watching Anthony Joshua!

Surround Vision

At BVE Surround Vision will focus on showcasing their award winning 360 cinematic films, documentaries and campaigns. “Simon” enables you to step into a world and discover what it’s like to be a young man with cerebral palsy. “Home Aamir” explores the meaning of home though one man’s story in the Calais Jungle and “The Nutcracker” captures behind the scenes 360 footage of a young dancer as she prepares for her debut at The Royal Opera House.

BBC Earth Logo

BBC Earth, the arm of BBC Worldwide will be showcasing three virtual reality experiences using Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR. The VR experiences will feature three very distinct animals, a Caracal Cat, an Oogpister Beetle and Black Bears. This will be BBC Worldwide’s first foray into 360-storytelling; with the Cat Flight integrating CGI with 360 video. These experiences give audiences a completely different insight into the natural world.

Happy finish logo

Happy Finish, pioneers in creating commercial VR content, have one of the world’s most impressive portfolios of commercial VR, AR and MR experiences. At BVE they are giving visitors the opportunity to test out the Oculus Rift and the Hololens VR headsets, and get a glimpse at some of their (currently top secret!) commercial projects!
